A party weekend in Malta with friends: 3 days of nights out
Malta works well for a party weekend with friends: you can walk between the clubs of Paceville, in St Julian's, and the parties start at 11pm. In winter, they mostly happen on Saturdays; in summer, there's something on every night. Here's how to plan three days, from choosing where to stay to getting home at 4am, with the real times and the real prices.
Before you go: ID, tickets and budget
Malta is in the European Union and uses the euro: check the entry requirements for your nationality before you travel, and bring your original passport or ID card. Pack an adapter if you need one: the sockets are type G, the three-pin kind also used in the UK and Ireland.
Book your party tickets before you go: each ticket is for one date, and the 1st release (First Batch) is the cheapest. For Halloween at Toy Room, it was €15, against €20 for the 2nd release.
On budget, allow from €15 to get into a Toy Room party this autumn, plus a 10% booking fee, and €3 per journey on the night bus.
Where to stay: St Julian's, to walk everywhere
For a party weekend, St Julian's is the simplest base: Toy Room, Sky Club and Infinity by Hugo's are in Paceville, and TwentyTwo is close by in Portomaso. You walk home, with no waiting for a bus or a car.
Sliema and Valletta are quieter and still on the N13 night bus route. Before paying for a rental online, take a tip from France's official travel advice (France Diplomatie): don't pay in full until you've checked the accommodation really exists.
Friday: arrive, have dinner, first night out
On Friday, take your time over dinner: in Paceville, the clubs open at 11pm, and the night ends at 4am when the official page gives a finishing time.
In winter, Friday is rarely the big night. The exception this year: Tower of Terror, the Halloween party at TwentyTwo, takes place on Friday 30 October 2026 (17 and over, costume compulsory).
In summer 2026, Friday meant Ladies Night at TwentyTwo, Moonlight Swim on the rooftop at Infinity by Hugo's, District Fridays or the White Party Marrakech at Gianpula Village, and French Border at Aria Complex from mid-July to mid-August.
Saturday: the big night at Toy Room
Saturday is the safe bet. This autumn, Toy Room changes theme every Saturday from 11pm: Love Night and its coloured wristbands, Glow Night and its neon, The Haunted Toy Room for Halloween on 31 October, then Bad Bunnies on 28 November for hip-hop, trap and reggaeton.
In summer 2026, Saturday meant Toy Room Saturdays or Wild West at Toy Room, the Flirt Foam Party at Aria Complex and French Touch on the rooftop at Gianpula Village.
Sunday: recover, or one last party in summer
In winter, no parties were on sale on Sundays as of mid-October: it's the day to recover before your flight.
In summer 2026, Sunday still had its parties: Love Night at Toy Room, the TwentyTwo French Night and, from early July to the end of August, the French rap showcases at Tigullio.
In summer, a night out at sea
From June to September, add a boat party to your weekend: in summer 2026, they sailed from Sliema Ferries from 7pm to 11:30pm, and the Mega Boat Party was advertised at €69 all inclusive.
Getting home at night without the hassle
The N13 leaves Valletta from 11:10pm to 2:10am and serves Sliema and St Julian's, for €3 a journey; check the return timetable on the Malta Public Transport website before you go out. Bolt, Uber and eCabs all operate in Malta.
Go out in a group and get home together: France Diplomatie recommends particular vigilance in the Paceville district.
