Boat party in Malta: the Mega Boat Party and the White Boat Party
A boat party in Malta is a night out at sea with an open bar, DJs and dance floors on deck. In summer 2026, the Mega Boat Party and the White Boat Party sailed from Sliema Ferries, in Sliema, from 7pm to 11:30pm, with tickets from €69 in 2026. Both return in summer 2027; dates and prices haven't been announced yet. Here's what they offered, what to bring, how to get to Sliema and which option to choose if you want a boat all to yourselves.
Two boat parties, one boat
In summer 2026, the Mega Boat Party and the White Boat Party shared the same boat, the Geraldine, on two levels, and the same quay: Sliema Ferries, on the Sliema waterfront. Departure at 7pm, back on the quay at 11:30pm: four and a half hours at sea.
The Mega Boat Party sailed twelve times between 30 June and 25 August, mostly on Tuesdays: six Tuesdays, three Wednesdays and three Saturdays. The White Boat Party also sailed twelve times, from 4 July to 29 August, mostly on Saturdays: six Saturdays, three Mondays and three Fridays.
On Thursday 23 July 2026, during Isle of MTV week, a daytime boat party also left from Sliema Ferries, from 11:30am to 8pm. Both series have been announced for summer 2027; dates, prices and the boat haven't been published yet.
Mega Boat Party: open bar, two dance floors and a swim
On board the Mega Boat Party: two levels and two dance floors, each with its own vibe, and Maltese and international DJs. The open bar is included in the ticket; exactly what it covers can change from one edition to the next.
What sets it apart is the swim stops, when the sea and the weather allow. No dress code was published: come as you like, with your swimwear underneath.
White Boat Party: the all-white night at sea
The White Boat Party is the White Edition of the Mega Boat Party, hence the name “Mega White Boat Party” you'll come across online: same boat, same departure point, same open bar, but everyone in white. Its 2026 poster spelled it out, “Dress code: white”, and a white outfit was required to board.
Nothing else is imposed: dress, shirt, shorts or trousers, as long as it's white. The poster announced a boat for 400 people and two dance floors, and the official listing described a sunset cruise.
How much is a boat party in Malta?
In 2026, tickets for both boat parties started at €69, open bar included; their posters said “€69 all inclusive”. For the Mega Boat Party, that was the 1st release (Early Bird) price.
What the 2026 ticket included: the cruise from 7pm to 11:30pm, the open bar, the two dance floors and the DJs, plus the swim stops on the Mega Boat Party, weather permitting. The details of the open bar weren't published.
No prices have been announced for summer 2027 yet. On each party's page, the “Notify me” button emails you as soon as tickets go on sale.
What to bring on board
Original photo ID, always. For the Mega Boat Party, swimwear and a towel, since swim stops were planned. For the White Boat Party, an all-white outfit.
Think about the deck: steady shoes for dancing and a pocket that closes for your phone. No minimum age was published for either party; if in doubt, message us on WhatsApp before you buy.
Arrive at least 30 minutes before departure: the exact meeting-point instructions are sent after booking and can change depending on the date.
Getting to Sliema Ferries, and getting back
Sliema is next door to St Julian's. From Valletta, the Valletta Ferry Services ferry crosses to Sliema every day, stopping at The Strand; according to its fares, checked in October 2026, a daytime adult single cost €3. From St Julian's or elsewhere, a ride-hailing app does the job: Bolt, Uber and eCabs all operate in Malta.
You're back on the quay at 11:30pm, just as the clubs in Paceville open. The N13 night bus serves the Ferries stop and carries on to St Julian's every night, at €3 a journey: enough to keep the night going, if you've still got the energy.
With friends: the private catamaran option
A boat party means one ticket each on a shared boat. To have the boat to your group alone, there's the private catamaran: Malta Explorers hires out eight, for 10 to 45 people, from Roland Marina in Ta' Xbiex, near Sliema. Skipper and fuel included, for a day trip (roughly 10am to 6pm) or at sunset (2 to 4 hours).
To party on board, pick the right boat: the Party catamaran takes 45 people, and the Lagoon 450 (25 people) and the Sailing catamaran (20) both have a generator for a DJ. The Bali 4.0, on the other hand, doesn't allow parties or amplified music.
In 2026, hire started at €520 per boat (a sailing boat at sunset); the Party catamaran cost €1,560 at sunset and €2,860 for the day. Malta Explorers' 2026 season is over: bookings reopen in 2027.
