Going out in Malta in winter: parties from October to April

From October to April, Malta's party calendar gets shorter. This autumn, the parties on sale all fall on a Saturday, at Toy Room, in Paceville (St Julian's), with two special dates: Halloween, on 30 and 31 October, then New Year's Eve on 31 December. The open-air parties have wrapped up their season: in 2026, the last boat party sailed on 5 September and the last pool party took place on 14 September. Here's what's on month by month, what closes until spring and how to plan a weekend.

October: a theme every Saturday, then Halloween

Every Saturday this autumn, Toy Room opens its doors at 11pm with a different theme. In October 2026: Love Night on the 17th, the coloured wristband party; Glow Night on the 24th, under the neon; then The Haunted Toy Room on the 31st for Halloween, until 4am. Tickets start at €15 (+ booking fee).

In 2026, Halloween falls on a Saturday and is celebrated over two nights. On Friday 30 October, Tower of Terror takes place at TwentyTwo, on the 22nd floor of the Portomaso Business Tower: 17 and over, costume compulsory. The next night, The Haunted Toy Room opens at 11pm, 17 and over, and Haunted Hotel, the Halloween party at Infinity by Hugo's, from 9pm on the rooftop of the H Hotel.

Another date to note: Malta and the UK put their clocks back on the same night. On the night of Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 October, at 3am Malta time, it becomes 2am again.

November: four Saturdays at Toy Room

November 2026 comes down to four Saturdays: Glow Night on the 7th, Love Night on the 14th, Glow Night on the 21st and Bad Bunnies on the 28th, for hip-hop, trap and reggaeton. Doors at 11pm; for Bad Bunnies, the official page gives a 4am finish.

Each date has two tickets: €15 for the 1st release, €25 for the VIP ticket, which adds VIP area access, plus a 10% booking fee on top. By mid-October, nothing was on sale after 28 November: the events listings show new dates as soon as they're released.

What closes until spring

The rooftop at Infinity by Hugo's stays closed from November to April: according to the H Hotel, its season runs from May to October, weather permitting. At Gianpula Village, on the outskirts of Rabat, the open-air spaces such as The Rooftop and Gianpula Fields run from May to September; the Main Room, on the other hand, is open all year round, according to the venue.

Daytime parties follow the same rhythm. In 2026, the Friday pool party at Toy Room Beach Club, in Sliema, ran from 5 June to 21 August, and the boat parties sailed from Sliema Ferries between 30 June and 5 September.

December: New Year's Eve on the 31st

In 2026, New Year's Eve falls on a Thursday, and 1 January is a public holiday in Malta. Midnight strikes there an hour before it does in London.

By mid-October, no New Year's Eve parties had been announced yet, with no venue and no tickets. The New Year's Eve page will list them as soon as they're announced; you can leave your email there to be notified when tickets go on sale.

January to April: waiting for the season

For January, February, March and April, no dates had been announced by mid-October. To give you an idea, in 2026 a special Valentine's Day Love Night was scheduled at Toy Room on Saturday 14 February, and the summer season got going at the end of April, with Toy Room Saturdays from 2 May.

Planning a winter weekend

This autumn, it all happens on Saturday night: arrive on that day at the latest, and on the Friday if you're aiming for Tower of Terror on 30 October. If you stay in St Julian's, you can walk back from Toy Room.

The N13 night bus links Valletta and St Julian's every night via Sliema: from Valletta, the first bus leaves at 11:10pm and the last at 2:10am, and it's €3 a journey. For the way back, check the timetable published by Malta Public Transport before you set off, or plan on a ride with Bolt, Uber or eCabs.

Carry original photo ID: each party sets its own minimum age, and it's 17 for both The Haunted Toy Room and Tower of Terror.
