Going out in Malta, the essentials

In Malta, nightlife mostly happens in St Julian's. Toy Room, Sky Club and Infinity by Hugo's are in Paceville, the district at the heart of the island's nightlife, and TwentyTwo, close by, takes up the top floor of the Portomaso Business Tower. Other venues mean a journey: Gianpula Village on the outskirts of Rabat, Café del Mar in Qawra (St Paul's Bay) and Aria Complex in L-Iklin. This guide brings together the essentials before you go out: published opening times, the minimum age when it's announced, night buses, ride-hailing apps and official safety advice.

The party areas

Paceville, in St Julian's, is the nightlife district: French government travel advice describes it as the area where the island's nightlife is concentrated. Toy Room, Sky Club and Infinity by Hugo's, on the H Hotel rooftop, are all here, and TwentyTwo is close by, on the top floor of the Portomaso Business Tower.

The other venues are spread across the island: Gianpula Village in the countryside on the outskirts of Rabat, Café del Mar in Qawra, in the St Paul's Bay area, and Aria Complex in L-Iklin, near San Ġwann. Valletta, the capital, is where the N13 night bus to St Julian's sets off. The Paceville guide covers the area, its clubs and the basics of staying safe.

What a night out is like

At Toy Room, parties open at 11pm and, when the official ticket page gives an end time, it's 4am. The minimum age is set party by party: for Halloween 2026, The Haunted Toy Room and Tower of Terror are for over-17s. To enter Malta, check the rules for your nationality before you travel: French visitors, for example, need a valid national identity card or passport.

A dress code only applies when the party announces one: a Halloween costume is compulsory at Tower of Terror, and it's all white for a white party. The guide to opening times, age and dress code covers all of this, with a section for students and language-school stays.

Getting around at night

The N13 night bus links Valletta and St Julian's every day, with departures from Valletta from 11.10pm to 2.10am; a journey on a night route costs €3.00. Bolt, Uber and eCabs also operate in Malta. Between the Paceville clubs, you walk.

For Gianpula Village, Café del Mar or Aria Complex, outside St Julian's, sort out how you'll get back before you set off. The night transport guide gives the fares, the stops and the French government's safety advice.

Where to stay

To do everything on foot, stay in St Julian's: Toy Room, Sky Club, Infinity by Hugo's and TwentyTwo are all there. Sliema, next door, and Valletta are on the N13 route if you'd rather sleep away from the clubs. St Paul's Bay makes sense if your nights out are at Café del Mar, in Qawra.

Before paying for a holiday let online, follow the French government's advice: don't pay in full until you've checked the property exists and you have the keys. The “Where to stay for nightlife” guide compares the areas.

A party for every day

The line-up depends on the season. This winter, the parties on sale are on Saturdays at Toy Room, from 11pm: Love Night, Glow Night and Bad Bunnies in their winter edition, and The Haunted Toy Room for Halloween. In July and August 2026, every night of the week had at least one party on sale, from the Monday Italian night at Toy Room to TwentyTwo French Night on Sundays.

The weekly table builds itself from the parties on sale, with the club, the opening time and the starting price.

Malta's clubs

Each club has its own page, with its next parties, its address and how to get there. To get your bearings: Toy Room and Sky Club are in Paceville, TwentyTwo sits on the top floor of a 97.5-metre tower, and Infinity by Hugo's is a rooftop with a pool, closed from November to April.

Outside St Julian's, Gianpula Village brings together ten venues in the countryside near Rabat, Aria Complex advertises crowds of up to 3,000 across four spaces in L-Iklin, and Café del Mar, in Qawra, looks out over St Paul's Islands, Gozo and Comino.

The seasons

Summer, from May to September, is the main season: pool parties, boat parties and festivals join the club nights, and Gianpula Village's open-air spaces reopen. Infinity by Hugo's is open from May to October, weather permitting.

In autumn and winter, things narrow down to Saturdays at Toy Room and special dates: Halloween, then New Year's Eve when parties are announced. The summer page lets you get the parties that fall during your travel dates.

Tickets and VIP tables

Tickets are bought on each party's official ticket page, with the Tickets button, and payment is secure on that page. The “from” price shown on this site is the lowest price, excluding the booking fee; some parties offer several releases at different prices.

For a VIP table, give the party, the date and the number of people in the form: our team will reply on WhatsApp with availability and what the table includes.
