Paceville and St Julian's, Malta's party district
Going out in Malta very often means going out in Paceville. The district is home to several of the clubs on this site and, according to French government travel advice (France Diplomatie), most of the island's nightlife. Here's how it works: where it is, which clubs open in which season, the night hour by hour, how to get there and back, and the habits worth keeping.
Where Paceville is
Paceville is a district of St Julian's, San Ġiljan in Maltese, the town next to Sliema, just north of Valletta. It stretches between Spinola Point and Dragonara Point, in other words between Spinola Bay and St George's Bay. France Diplomatie places it in the north of St Julian's.
The district dates from the 1910s and 1920s, when the lawyer Giuseppe Pace had a few houses built there by the water. Some are still standing, surrounded by apartment blocks and hotels; around them, the streets are lined with bars, restaurants and clubs. Toy Room is on St George's Road, Infinity by Hugo's on the rooftop of the H Hotel, and TwentyTwo in Portomaso, on the top floor of the Portomaso Business Tower: 97.5 metres tall, opened in 2001 and Malta's tallest building until 2020.

The district's clubs
Toy Room, on St George's Road, is also the club for winter nights. This winter, its parties are on Saturdays from 11pm: Love Night, where you pick a wristband at the door to show your relationship status, Glow Night and its neon, Bad Bunnies for reggaeton, hip-hop and trap, and The Haunted Toy Room for Halloween, on Saturday 31 October 2026, until 4am. In summer 2026, it had a themed party almost every night, from Dolce Vita on Mondays to Love Night on Sundays.
Sky Club is in Paceville too. In 2026, it hosted Le Classico, a French night, every Monday from 6 July to 31 August, from 11pm to 4am.
Infinity by Hugo's is on the rooftop of the H Hotel in Paceville: an open-air infinity pool of about 20 metres, a partly retractable roof and a cocktail bar, according to the hotel's website. The rooftop is closed from November to April. In summer 2026, its pool parties ran from 9pm to 4am, with The White Party on Mondays, French Pool & Party on Wednesdays and Moonlight Swim on Fridays.
TwentyTwo is on the top floor of the Portomaso Business Tower, right next to Paceville. In 2026, its nights included TwentyTwo French Night on Sundays, Ladies Night on Fridays and TwentyTwo White Party on Wednesdays. For Halloween, Tower of Terror takes place there on Friday 30 October 2026.
The night, hour by hour
Before 11pm, the district's clubs haven't opened yet, except in summer on the Infinity by Hugo's rooftop, where pool parties started at 9pm in 2026. It's the time for dinner or a drink.
At 11pm, the doors open at Toy Room, as they did at Sky Club and TwentyTwo in summer 2026. When the official ticket page gives a finishing time, it's 4am.
Plan the end of the night from the start. The last N13 from Valletta leaves at 2:10am; times in the other direction, towards Sliema and Valletta, are on the Malta Public Transport website. Otherwise, Bolt, Uber and eCabs operate in Malta.
Staying safe: good habits
French government travel advice (France Diplomatie) recommends particular vigilance in Paceville, and caution on the 13, 14, 15 and 16 buses that serve it. The ministry reports pickpockets on public transport and in busy tourist areas, Paceville in particular, and several cases of sexual assault.
It also warns that drugs may circulate in bars and clubs, including in drinks served to customers without their knowledge, particularly in Paceville and St Julian's. Taking drugs in public is strictly prohibited and can lead to a fine.
Good habits: keep an eye on your drink and don't accept one you didn't see being poured, go out as a group and come home together, and only carry the cash and ID you need. France Diplomatie advises keeping your documents somewhere safe and carrying copies. In an emergency, dial 112, the European emergency number, free throughout the EU.
Getting there and back
From Valletta or Sliema, the N13 night bus runs to St Julian's every day. From Valletta, stop A13, buses leave from 11:10pm to 2:10am; the route serves stops including Tas-Sliema, Ferries, Spinola, Ross and San Giljan. A night journey costs €3.00, paid in cash, by contactless card or by phone, and it's free with a valid Tallinja card.
Within the district, you get around on foot: Toy Room, Sky Club and Infinity by Hugo's are all in Paceville. To go further, Bolt, Uber and eCabs operate in Malta; Uber advertises a 24/7 service in Valletta.
Staying in St Julian's or nearby
Staying in Paceville means walking home from Toy Room, Sky Club or Infinity by Hugo's. If you'd rather sleep away from the crowds leaving the clubs, the rest of St Julian's, Sliema and Valletta are on the N13 route. Before paying for a rental online, follow France Diplomatie's advice: don't pay in full until you've checked that the property exists and you have the keys.
