Opening times, age and dress code: how a night out in Malta works
Before a night out in Malta, the same four questions always come up: what time to go, how old you need to be, which ID to bring and what to wear. The answers below come from the parties' official pages and public websites, with a section for students and language-course stays.
What time do parties start?
At Toy Room, parties start at 11pm. For The Haunted Toy Room, the Halloween party, and for Bad Bunnies, the official ticket page also gives the finishing time: 4am. For the winter editions of Love Night and Glow Night, it only gives the opening time.
At Halloween 2026, Tower of Terror opens at 11pm at TwentyTwo on Friday 30 October, until 4am. On Saturday 31 October, The Haunted Toy Room also opens at 11pm at Toy Room, while Haunted Hotel, the Infinity by Hugo's party, runs from 9pm to 4am.
In summer, times vary by venue. In 2026, the Infinity by Hugo's pool parties ran from 9pm to 4am, Gianpula Village parties from 10pm or 11pm to 4am, Café del Mar's Thursday Pool Party started at 8pm and the boat parties sailed from Sliema Ferries, from 7pm to 11:30pm. At Toy Room Beach Club, parties were held during the day, from 11am to 8pm for the Friday one.
Malta is one hour ahead of London all year round: the clocks go back on the last Sunday of October and forward on the last Sunday of March, on the same days as in the UK.
Minimum age, party by party
The minimum age is set party by party, and this site only shows it when it has been announced. At Halloween 2026, two parties announce one: The Haunted Toy Room, at Toy Room on Saturday 31 October, and Tower of Terror, at TwentyTwo on Friday 30 October, are for ages 17 and over.
For other parties, check their page on this site before you buy: if an age has been announced, it's there. If it isn't, ask us on WhatsApp before you get your tickets, rather than finding out at the door.
ID
To enter Malta, French citizens need a valid national ID card or passport, according to France Diplomatie, the French foreign ministry. Malta has been part of the European Union since 1 May 2004 and of the Schengen area since 21 December 2007. If you hold another passport, British or otherwise, check the entry requirements with your own government.
At a party with a minimum age, you may be asked to prove your age at the door: bring original photo ID. France Diplomatie also advises keeping your documents somewhere safe and carrying copies. A sensible compromise: take only the ID you need for the night, in a pocket that closes, and leave the rest at the hotel.
Dress code
A dress code only applies when the party announces one, on its poster or its official page. At Halloween 2026, Halloween fancy dress is compulsory at Tower of Terror, at TwentyTwo, and The Haunted Toy Room encourages costumes. For a white party, you come all in white: the poster for the summer 2026 White Boat Party spelled it out, “Dress code: white”.
At Toy Room's Love Night, the code isn't an outfit but a wristband, chosen at the door: red if you're taken, green if you're single, blue for “One Night Only”. Glow Night is all about neon: fluorescent is part of the theme.
Apart from these, the official pages of the parties on sale don't publish a dress code. If a party has one, you'll find it on its page.

Students and language courses
In Malta for a language course, an internship or a semester? The entry rules are the same for everyone, and the minimum age depends on each party. At Halloween 2026, The Haunted Toy Room and Tower of Terror are for ages 17 and over.
If you're under 18 and on a supervised programme, check first what your course provider and your parents allow for nights out.
On budget, the parties on sale this season have no student price: each one shows its prices on its page, from the 1st release to VIP tickets, excluding the booking fee. On night routes, Malta Public Transport says holders of a valid Tallinja card travel free; ask the operator whether you can get one.
For stays of more than three months, France Diplomatie says French citizens must apply for a residence permit, except students on an approved internship: the process goes through Identità, the Maltese government agency. Other nationalities should check the rules that apply to them.
